Mrs. Alyssa Daskal

For the past 11 years, Mrs. Daskal has been part of the PHA community as a parent, and now she is thrilled to join the school as a teacher. She earned her Master’s degree from Columbia University in 2007, and in 2020, returned to school for a Creative Writing Certificate. Since then, her work has appeared in New Letters, Jabberwock Review, New England Review, and other literary journals. Mrs. Daskal’s debut novel, set in the post-WWII Cyprus Internment Camps, will be published in early 2026. She can’t wait to challenge her students to sharpen their writing, stretch their imaginations, and explore ideas deeply, all while nurturing a lifelong love of reading and thoughtful engagement with the world.
