Mrs. Carri Beth White
General Studies Teacher
Middle School Science
Carri White earned her Bachelor’s in Science Education from Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania and graduate credits from Grand Canyon University. She was blessed to have spent the last 30 years teaching middle school science for the Scottsdale Unified School District at three different middle schools; Tonanlea, formerly Supai, Cocopah and Desert Canyon. During her first two years, she taught Science on a multi-grade level team (7th/ 8th grade). This opportunity gave Mrs. White experience teaching all areas of science and also allowed her to dabble in drama and directing two musical performances. During the next 13 years she engaged 8th grade students through inquiry-based physical science instruction. Students in her classes learned through hands-on science laboratory experiences. Her last 15 years in Scottsdale were dedicated to 6th grade, instructing in areas of biology, chemistry and physics.
Mrs. White is married to an elementary school art teacher, Jon and they have a 22-year-old son Luke studying computer game design, acting and directing. She has 2 dachshunds -Sunshine and Scooby.
Other than her love for Science and passion for teaching, Carri finds peace in nature. Hiking is one of her favorite activities especially in Sedona. Music is always part of Mrs. White’s heart. She can often be found at a live music venue. Mrs. White’s professional goals are to teach young adolescents to be curious about the natural world and universe. To observe, question and discover the fundamentals of science. With an ultimate goal of developing 21st century scientists who will be problem solvers and benefit society in the future.
